Comments:
Here's what Larry the Craftsman repair guy found for me. This was #8 of 10 that were immediately shipped to Craftsman retailers upon the signing of a manufacturing contract. They hurridly slapped Craftsman logo's and name plates, and for the first 10 only, made serial #'s inside with whatever they could use. Mine started in Detroit, and wound up in West Lebanon, Indiana, in a tree line, by a creek that had recently flooded and uncovered it. We dug out everything we could, and luckily, only 2 parts were broken. Both are blade height adjustments. So it sits on it's stand, waiting for a cradle, or part to come in, so I can say, " I saved 1 more". His name is Racer X from Speed Racer. That's just the name that hit me when I painted him.

Comments: Fresh out of the Indiana mud. This is a true basket case.

Comments: Here is a box of parts we dug up around it. Center screen you can see the teeth of the adjustment plate are gone. AS is the end of the adjustment screw, but it's just twisted off and can be used as is. The broken piece is probably why it was in the creek

Comments: The same date that the contacts were signed. And all they did was add decals to an existing good product, and gave it a proper name.

Comments: After 2 cleanings, I see paint. And a broken pivot for the cradle, fixed with liquid steel.

Comments: O a vintage stand that it would have came on. Have the switches and most parts, even an owners manual with parts list. but no height adjustment.
