This is also believed to be a patented device by A.B. Jardine & Co. It is a device for tightening the iron band on the outside of a wooden wagon wheel. This particular Tire upsetter was in an Auction Sale in Saskatchewan in 2005. The photo is from the auction listing. Thanks for clarification on this device by Art Shaw of Lyndhurst Ontario, Home of the oldest stone bridge in Ontario, just down the road from Delta Ontario, the Maple Syrup Capital of Canada.:)
