Comments:
This saw is a few exits North of me, up the NJ Turnpike. While this is the first L. Power-tagged bandsaw in the index, it is yet another example of the strange relationship that existed between two Philadelphia machinery builders that co-habitated only a black away from each other for the last quarter of the 1800's. Atlantic Works was established in 1869 to manufacture bandsaws. While they also re-labeled other manufacturer's machines as their own, they also built bandsaws for other manufacturers, as well. My belief is that despite the cast lettering that says L. Power, this saw was built by the folks at Atlantic Works.
