I purchased this at a auction for $475.00 Canadian. It was in poor shape (stored in a steel storage shed for years) Lots of rust, needed new everything, motor, bearings etc.
All of the major components were in good shape, cutterhead, drive rollers ect.
I stripped the machine down to parts, cleaned and painted all cast components. Replaced all bearings, drive chain and most sprockets. I installed a brand new Leeson "farm duty" 3hp motor and new magnetic starter. New fenner Powertwist belting on both primary and secondary drives.
A friend of the site Gilles Marinier gave me a great tip as to the paint colour. Canadian Tire automotive paint# 47-5045-4 matched the factory paint very well.
I had to rebuild this machine on a mobile base as it is in the 600-700 pound range.
Cost to rebuild approx $700.00 cdn. Overall cost of $1200.00 cdn
