This unusual Parks planer was discovered at Robert Ivens Machinery Co., 0ctober 2005, while Google-ing the internet. It is unusual, for a Parks, in that it has been modified to place the motor on top of the planer. However, the motor on top design is a common one among today's Chiwanese four post planers. Typically, on Parks Model 95's, the motor was mounted under the planer, which without a belt guard left a lot of belt dangerously exposed near the table raising hand wheel. RIMCO indicated that the machine was modified by previous owner Fritz Mantey to alleviate that problem. Information and photo courtesy of RIMCO.
