Had searched unsuccessfully locally in S.La. for quite a while for a saw like this. I asked a good friend Dick Gibbens (who collects old gas and steam engines) for help finding one. He called me within a week telling me of this one coming up for sale the following Saturday in Alexandria, La. I picked him up at 2AM and we arrived at the sale for 7AM. I rushed to the saw and bought it for $650.00. I never imagined how excited I would get by buying an old rusty bandsaw. It has since been blasted, primed, cleaned and painted. I have just recently restored the babbit bearings, installed a custom mobile base and adjustable motor mount. I installed a new 220V, 1750 rpm, 3hp motor and new belts and a custom belt and pulley guard. The blade guards have been fabricated and installed, a couple of guide attachments machined, new tires installed and crowned. Set up for dust collection installed also. All aluminum work done by a master shroud and guard maker for the S.La. offshore oil industry - Roger Holbrook of Schriever, La.
