Jan 11, 2014, and a frozen sewer line. After a couple of hours and 100ft long commercial snake we are clean and working again! With a wife that is happy, the house stinks, .... I figured why not ... and I asked "Since I was going to make saw dust all weekend and that did not happen can I buy a planer?" she has this deer in headlights look and says "don't we have like three of them" I say "no, we have three jointers"
I finally get sure, you earned it but you better shower and where the heck is this one located. Two hours away I tell her, and our 4 year old said he would like to go on an "Adventure" with me now that I do not smell, so she really is OK with it now.
So here is my 12" parks planer. Massive 4.5 HP 3 phase motor. It came from a guy with a small business that restored smaller aircraft. They rebuilt it a couple years back, works great but had trouble selling it as now one wanted 3ph so I purchased it. I got busy with other machines and just this past year, 2017, I got it running again. I replaced the motor with a newer 3hp 3ph motor and utilize a VFD on it. The drive also powers my porter 12" jointer.
Works great once I greased up a few spots on it. Do not plan to do much but keep it running and use the heck out of it for my personal shop.
