Comments:
The 36" band saw shown below appeared on eBay in March 2003. Its owner bought it from a defunct furniture maker and was told it was a Yates-American product. He has also been told it may be a product of the Moak Machine and Foundry Co. There are no markings on the saw itself.

Now fitted with a 3 hp, 3 phase motor, the saw looks old enough to have originally used an overhead flat belt system for power. The table is 38" x 31" and the weight was estimated to be roughly 1100 lbs. Evidently there are no integral safety guards or other new-fangled stuff!

If anyone knows more about Y-A or Moak saws of this type, email me and I will amend these notes...

Edit - the manufacturer was been identified as a Silver, and the entry manufacturing data has been updated accordingly. The original upload date for this entry was 3/24/2003. The date of editing this entry was 6/8/2012. Admin/DG
