this machine was purchased in the early 1960's by a school district in Northwest illinois for their Art Dept. where I have taught for 20 years. I have used this for my students jewelry projects for my entire career. It has serviced thousands of students!!!!!! A great machine. I use this to shear 12 gauge through 22 gauge copper, brass and nickel silver. Very very dependable machine!!!!!!! factory base as well. All original paint...this is stored in my supply room....away from the beginner students hands. The students use it regularly, but I make sure they have a healthy respect for it!
