Craigslist Image. This machine looks similar to an Atlas Model No. 4002 4-speed Jig Saw that I have which has a 24" throat (Circa 1954-1959). The base on the Brodhead Garrett looks like it has been extended 2" in length. The top arm has a 2" extension spacer bolted in place between the upper arm and the upper scroll mechanism. I am just going to go out on a limb and say that Atlas Press Co. was the true manufacturer of this machine for this time period. In 1959 Atlas also came out with a variable speed Jig Saw Model No. 4004. If you look closely this saw has a variable speed control wheel at the front of the machine.
