This machine belongs to James Carruthers, who provided the photos. Thanks also to Jukka Konola, who identified it as a rim and felloe rounding machine
This machine is one of several that came out S. Munce blacksmith Shop (later Scarborough Blacksmith Shop) in Ilderton, Ontario, just North of London.
This machine was used to round over the edges of wheel rims and felloes, for use by carriage makers. The machine is as tall as it is so that it can be used on larger wheels. Parts were fed freehand over the cutters. Sounds dangerous, but notice how the cutterheads are a "safety" style where the size of the cut is limited and the stock can safely ride on the non-cutting parts of the cutterhead.
