I took this picture on 10/11/2017 in the machine shop of the Nevada Northern Rail Road in Ely, NV. The NNRR is still in business - but now as a tourist railroad. They run both steam and early diesels. Neat place - check out their website! The guys there described this simply as an "air hammer". The main part of the machine is right about 10 feet high. Those are not miniature saw horses in the photo, and that's the biggest anvil I ever saw! I took more pictures in their machine shop, and I'll be posting them in the near future. Anyway, I was thinking that it might be handy to have a couple of these machines for pushing those brass tubes into the barrels for wooden pens.
