Purchased at military surplus auction September 2017. Unit is tagged as US Army property and being in the locksmith shop. It has been painted over twice and there are paper stickers under the added paint that appear to be original to the machine. I strongly suspect this is drill press was originally and continuously owned by the US Army. The first catalog descriptions of this model press appear in 1943 and by 1945 this model is no longer mentioned. At first, I thought I had purchased a pile of junk, but on examination, it appears to be in working order and remarkably solid and smooth running. Needs clean up and some parts repair, but pretty much a decent drill press with the original motor.
