This Model # does not show up in any of the commonly available references, including the Delta website. One other identical machine was noted on eBay about two years back - down to the same Model # and specs as this one, so it is apparently not a total one-off. Spindle travel is a full 6" and the motor is a Delta 1/2 HP running at 1140 RPM
Both this machine and the eBay example noted above are fitted with the apparently rare Multi-Speed Attachment #15-803. Whether these machines were originally fitted with that attachment when first sold, or it was added later I don't know. Working out the correct belts for the 3-pulley setup to work properly turned out to be a considerable challenge. When I got it, the belts were obviously incorrect: belt tension was excessive and only one speed was usable at all. There is only one belt combination that places the idler sliding dovetail in the correct working position and still allows both reasonable adjustment of belt tension and full use of all 7 speeds. That combination is (trade size): Motor to Idler 3L285, and Idler to Spindle 3L320. Even an inch difference in either belt throws the entire system out of whack
All in all a nice solid machine that was a real rust bucket when I got it, but cleaned up well with reasonable effort. Bearings were all good and all of the cast-iron is completely intact - not even a chipped edge anywhere. The new grey paint (Rustoleum Smoke Gray) on the table and assorted smaller bits matched up pretty well with the untouched main casting, but the Black (Rustoleum Gloss Black) on the base and belt cover is way too glossy. Not a big issue for me. YMMV
