Here is a very early Champion Blower and Forge Combo Repair Outfit Marked Patent applied for. This design was later covered by Patent Number 1,328.250 Granted January 13,1920. Notice that the anvil jaw is removable and a drill table jaw is able to be installed. The later version covered by Patent 1,377,202 the anvil jaw rotates up to form the drill table and the patent drawing shows the vise hand wheel opposite the forge. The one in the photos is set up as shown in the earlier patent drawing even though it is possible to assemble it as illustrated in the later patent. These repair outfits in my experience are very rare especially the patent applied for model, and with so many of the attachments still remaining with the tool. Missing is the grinding attachment that would install as does the drill spindle but would be supported on the opposite end by a bearing pocket in the anvil jaw.
