City Machine & Tool works from: Dayton Ohio.
found this ("Sander-Saw") in south Barrington Illinois from a long time wood and metal worker. A barn sale run by grandson. Originally marked really high, but bought for 1/10 the original marked cost at sale. On the furthest left side wheel are brackets for a table which would aid edge sanding. Also near and below disc are two brackets for a small table. The sanding table seems to have been missing for a long time as the remaining brackets have been painted over. There is a third bracket under the disc and wheel that has a double vertical bolt pattern. That lower bracket is broken and painted over as well. I would imagine that the lower bracket would secure th tolt adjustment. (Too Bad). Great casting quality. Interesting combination of saw and sander. The maximum possible width of the saw cut is 20 1/2" wide....A very nice feature!!! The table top tilts, the brackets for the tilting top have been repaired, very nicely.. Saw has a 1 hp GE 110 electric motor. Saw operates very well, smooth. Tracks well. Saw has an upper blade guide, also has strategically placed bolts for a guard on casting. All bolts appear to be hand made on a lathe. (Very similar to the bolts on my Dalton Lathe). No guard, but PO tried to add some safety features for modest protection. Interesting machine, and very well made. The only other reference I have seen to the saw and or manufacturer is a copper ash tray on eBay....cast into ashtray is "City Machine & Tool Works" "Dayton Ohio"
