My brother in law picked this up for me in Bollingbrook IL outside of Chicago from the Styles family and I was told it has been in their family for over 100 years. The following is the history given to me by the family:

The history of the lathe; it was originally my Grandfathers on my Mothers side. He was born in 1900 and his Father and Uncles were blacksmiths in Chicago at the turn of the last century. He was given this hobby lathe as a gift. I have an original Sears & Roebuck catalog from 1902 and the Miller Falls Companion is in the catalog. I also have a reprint of the Sears catalog from 1897 and it's shown in there as well.
