Comments:
I was offered this Heston and Anderson shaper, after I returned to the previous owner of my Delta 17 drill press to show him my completed restoration. I think he appreciated the care I took in restoring one of his father's tools, so he called me first when he was ready to move some other tools along. It is my understanding that the previous owner's father was a hobbyist who bought the machine new.

This would probably be considered a light duty shaper with the 1/2" spindle. At the time I bought it, there was only one other like it on the mothership, so these may not be very common, and replacement parts may be hard to come by. Everything seems to be here - including hold-downs, cutters, and even a spare fence. I don't know if there was a guard or provisions for dust collection, so I will have to rig something up. The shaper is very stable, despite the slender appearance of the pedestal. There is no miter slot. The table surface is in very good condition. It has a high and low speed, and what I believe may be a forward/reverse switch. I know it runs, but it is still sitting outside my shop until I can get a mobile base underneath it.

I plan on cleaning up the machine up and replacing the bearings. While I have it apart for cleaning and bearings, I am sure I will decide to paint it as well.
I will update when that time comes.
