I used this machine in high school as an introduction to machining. Along with other machines, I made quite a few projects over a couple of years. About 10 years after I graduated, they shut down the whole shop class. That would have been about 1990. after that the metal working machines were pushed into a corner for 5+ years until they haphazardly started up woodworking classes again. That lasted for about 10 more years until the teacher finally retired and once again shop classes ceased to exist.

From 2001 until 2014 I bugged the school board members about the fate of the shop machines, until they told me to stop asking. Then my nephew started FFA classes and told me about all the machines in the back storage room of the now FFA class rooms and shop. I then started in on his teacher. Finally his senior year the teacher, who had no interest in many of the machines called me to come take a look and make an offer.

I did, and ended up buying virtually all the machines that were left in the storage room. Every single one I had personally used in shop class 35+ years ago. I had only wished to buy a few, but the deal from the principle was all or nothing.

My main goal was this machine. I sold the others to deserving OWWMers and basically got this machine for no money out of my pocket.

One thing that was very obvious on every machine that I took out of there was, darn near every loose knob was MIA. I have since source all the knobs for this mill. I hooked up the motors and they all ran fine. After oiling the machine, I ran it thru its paces and every thing worked as it should. Even the power table feed. Everything will get new bearings and a really good cleaning before I put it to work.

One major item missing is the over arm and support for horizontal use. I have source an over arm, and will fab up the support.

>> Machine info <<
3 phase motors
vertical motor is 3/4 HP
horizontal motor is 1 1/2 HP
The table power feed is a 1/3 hp / 120 volt.
Vertical motor uses R8 collets
Horizontal motor uses NMTB 30 tool holders
Has original machine light also

****Special note - The machine tag indicates it as a vertical head only. The Rockwell # for the combo machine is actually 21-122.*****
