This machine was offered to me for sale recently, near Philadelphia; I was not able to purchase it. The seller was not able to furnish an overall photograph of the machine.
My family were part owners of the Samuel J. Creswell Iron Works in Philadelphia from 1952 until they closed the business--which had started in 1835--in 1985. It is believed that an 1890's or so offshoot of this firm was the David Creswell business, also a foundry business and also in Philadelphia. It is the david creswell business that is believed to have allied itself with the former Goodell & Waters firm in the early 1900's, to produce cast iron items, including machinery, for a short period only.
I have a Creswell & Waters catalog, undated, and picked up at the S.J. Creswell Iron Works (in 1985 when they were closing) showing some of the products but not including machinery.
Though archived here under 'Goodell & Waters,' it is from a successor firm, as noted in the archive notes, and is the first Creswell & Waters machine 1), seen here and 2), that I've ever seen.
