Comments:
This Walker-Tuner 900 Series drill press was restored for a guy I know in Austin Texas to use in his shop for guitar making. He inherited this drill press form his Uncle who worked for the company who bought it new around the WWII time and was being used for a contractor named "LMC" per machine tag by the Air Force Base in Fort Worth Texas. When I got the Drill Press it was a TOTAL rusty BEAT UP to Hell mess with many, MANY coats of the ugly light green paint that was bush moped on and flaking off in large pieces.

Drill Press has the original Walker-Turner "Driver-Line" 1/2-HP 1750 RPM motor with "SKF" bearings, the optional and somewhat rare larger round HEAVY production base and the optional indexed tilting work table also. I replaced both spindle bearings with new ones, installed all new electrical components and a new link belt. All casting were pressure media blasted, primed and painted in a two part Awl Grip polyurethane paint system.

Note: The badge appears to have a solid orange field with no serial number data space. If so then this DP dates to 1940-41 (or possibly 1942) as that was the first of the round W-T style badges. The date of manufacture filed was adjusted accordingly. Admin:dg
