I bought this Carolina Industrial Equipment horizontal/vertical band saw from someone who was retiring and selling his heavy equipment business. He had used it for many years cutting about every type of material, and the chip tray was an inch deep in steel sawdust and scrap. It has a provision for mounting a table so that it can be used in the vertical orientation, which is what I wanted it for. I ordered a table, which turned out to be a fairly thin steel plate welded to a length of box beam. I immediately welded in a diagonal brace to stiffen things up. Despite many years of hard work, it still runs well. In researching the saw online, I found out that these saws are known colloquially as "Carolina Suzies".
