Comments:
An historic vintage wheel bandsaw, in near perfect original condition, for its age and industrial use. No serial number or manufacturer date. Bought in the late 1870s for the Pattern shop that supported the adjacent iron and steel castings in the newly founded Anniston, Alabama "Model City". The bandsaw is believed to be one of the first Egan bandsaws manufactured because of the date and the basic character of the saw (no safety devises such as guards, screens, solid wheels, etc.). Some other "companion" equipment not currently shown but I intend to include soon: Bandsaw Sharpener (Black Diamond); Chain Mortiser (New Britain); Door Clamping Machine (E B Hayes Co); Pattern Lathe (8'- Fay); Planer (Newman S248 Surfacer); Tenoner (L. Power & Co.); Manual Mitre (Fox); Panel Maker (Egan); Industrial table saw; Industrial Radial Arm Saw; electric motors up to 5 HP; Phase Converter (new).
