Comments:
I purchased this machine from Wendell Castle, Inc in 2011. He had got a beautiful German Jointer,so this machine became surplus. It was in good working order and I used for five years and recently restored it. The restoration went well with new bearings, blades and paint. Aligning the tables was fun.
The "Birth Certificate" I got from Rich Fink, said it was shipped to the Defense Plant Corporation, acting for the Chance Vought Aircraft Corp, in Stratford, Connecticut on 10/20/1943. So this machine probably went to their pattern shop. At that time, Chance Vought had developed and were building the F-4U Dauntless fighter for the U.S. Navy, which saw a lot of action in the Pacific.
