Comments:
I recently acquired this machine via the big auction site. The company was from NY and auctioned off four Delta Rockwell tools, I could only afford to snag this one. This was purchased new by the company and only used in the maintenance department of a non woodworking company. This jointer was painted a beige color all over, and I mean all over. Some of the paint got into places it is not supposed to be. In addition the painter throughly covered the gib screws rendering them as one and useless. I am in the process of removing the beige and repainting. The machine was stiff and hard to move the fence and other adjustments so I am taking it all the way down to clean and regrease. The one table has in the casting 3 56 and when I called Delta they confirmed it was made in the 1956 but they did not specify the month. I am using the dark machine gray to repaint it but the original looks a little darker. I just completed the repainting in time for its 50th birthday, it took about 9 months of work.

The front as it arrived home. It had to be dismantled to get it down the celler steps.
