Comments:
Lathe was found in New Brunswick at an operational saw mill. I enlisted help to retrieve the lathe. The bed had been weathered. Due to shipping cost I decided have the iron stripped from the bed and shipped to me as I planned to build a new bed. The lathe was at least 15' long at some point as the 3' long way sections were finished on a planer. I have the spare front two ways however missing the last two rear ways. The long term goal is to machine two more duplicate ways and return this lathe to a 15' lathe on thicker timbers someday. I have some clues as to the builder, however I may never know exactly who built this early lathe.
