My first metal lathe. Purchased on Craigslist. Was originally bronze colored and mounted to old rusty home built stand. Repainted pearl white. Added toggle switch to front. Direct mounted motor to back using gravity tensioned motor mount from junked craftsman belt sander. Motor is newer craftsman 1/4 HP with custom made jeweled cover. Swapped out tail stock locking bolt with polished handle nut. Fabricated custom tray riser base out of MDF and painted to match. Added aluminum chip tray below. Polished aluminum gear cover and moved gear chart to exterior. Added metal machine badge to front as replacement for original decal. Swapped out original v-belt with power twist link belt. Works great for trying up small parts. Currently only has four jaw independent chuck but I hope to add a three jaw self centering chuck and tail drill chuck in the future. Also looking for 'vintage style' task lamp to add to base.
