This is an aftermarket product manufactured by Modern Machine Tools which is a substitute drill press table. It is intended to serve as a drill press table when the vise is closed, and as a quick grip vise when the operator elects to use that feature.

These were originally developed in the area of "Camelback" drill presses which had a round table that had a shank on the underside which sat in a socket on the drill press table support arm. This Quick-Grip Table Vise" would sit in that socket in place of the factory DP table.

Later as the modern version of the DP developed the product was adapted by adding a column bracket and support arm. These had to be sized to work with the dimensions of the DP. I show a photo below of my Walker-Turner 15" DP which has a 2-3/4" column. But we have also seen these on other DPs including a 14" Delta (which also has a 2-3/4" column) and several 17" Deltas (which have a 3-1/2" column). When an order is placed the buyer has to tell them what DP it will be mounted on so that the correct configuration of column collar, bracket and socket could be shipped with the table.
