I spotted this machine at the going out of business auction of an old time cabinet shop.
It was a bit hard to photograph because of site constraints. From what I can see this is basically a 3 head shaper where each head has multiple cutters stacked on them. By incorporating very specific work surfaces, fences and guards, etc., they were able to build multiple but different functions into each shaper head. From what I have read, this unit was designed for drawer making.
The 2nd photo below is of a different Hammer Multi-Triplex, but it gives a better idea as to the basic build of the machine. There were two many different guard, work surface and cutterhead areas to show here, so I've chosen photos that display the basic concept of the build and versatility of this machine.
