I bought this at an auction in Pittsfield Massachusetts. It almost looked like it had been double sided at one point since the back of the casting had been drilled in a close hole pattern and then had the back casting broken away. Sadly, the sander took a fall out of the back of a storage trailer and sustained substantial damage including bending the original miter and breaking off the table.

The serrations were caused by a line of drill holes. The casting was broken on purpose here.
