This is a friend of mine's double delta disc sander that he had us restore. It turned out great. The photos were taken before we replaced the upper disc guards.
EDIT January 2022 - I was able to revisit the sander earlier this year and I inspected the base. It is made of two separate disc sander bases that were cut off and welded. It was very well done and ground off so without looking for it, I missed it. Unfortunately I did not get a picture of it. It does answer the question about whether it was ultra-rare or shop made at least.... Definitely shop made. Notice that the mounting holes are not symmetrical. If you try to do this, it will likely take some tweaking to get it aligned.
