Just returned on a 42 hour trip from upstate New York to Alabama to pick up my Yates
American Y-30 Band Saw.Met some Katrina refugees from Louisiana and Mississippi. What
stories they had to tell,I hope the best for all those affected by Katrina. Now back to
the Y-30;3H.P.,220/440 volts 3PH.,900 RPM.The saw came from the Navy and has the brass purchase tag on it still, year purchased 1936,cost $598.00,serial No.B-11757.The saw came with electric connected to the foot brake pedal from the factory. It also has some type of electric item connected to the
blade tenisoner that I haven't figured out what it does yet.The back of the upper wheel
housing has a square casting thats part of the housing and has more electric items that
I think is part of the brake.I have owned 4 different snowflake band saws (Y-20,Y-30,2-
Y-36's)and none have had any of this type of brake system or electric on the blade tenisoner.Next week going to Penn.to pick up Y.A.24"jointer with Church feeder.
