Comments:
I acquired this electric motor in an auction as I wanted the vintage "Crabtree" brand switch that came with it.

The plate (what I can read of it) says:
A.C. Capacitor Start; Induction Motor; 50 Cycle; 1/4 HP; Volts 220/230; Amps 2.2; RPM 1440; Capacitor Unit Mfd 40. Made in England by the General Electric Co. Ltd. There's also instructions for changing direction of rotation.
The photos are those provided by the seller. I regret that I didn't take any photos before disassembling the motor. I'll post more once it's back together.

The body is 7 inches long and 6 1/2 inch in diameter.

Edit: The motor tag also states it's made to British Standard 170 of 1926 - which was revised in 1939 - so the motor must have been made in the period 1926-1939.
