I looked for a Canadian made General planer for two years. Then suddenly found two that were very affordable. I will keep the older one.
It is interesting to see the changes (or lack of) in products over time. The older planer (1967) is solid but lacks some of the conveniences of the newer one (1995) eg. jack screws on cutter head, hinged door to access the motor. Otherwise they are remarkably similar.
