In the A.J.Wilkinson Boston Hardware and tool Catalogue of 1873-1874 they list this as

Seymour's Pat. Foot Miter Available in three sizes to cut 2 1/4" 3" 4"
This is the 2 1/4 size.

A complete example with original Finish

In the last photo you can see the holes in the blades, they must have used the same knifes for
the 3 different size machines , but if you move the blades up they will not reach below the table
on this model.
