Comments:
This machine was owned by Bob Parvin of Maryville IL and later sold to OWWM'er John Marotta. Bob had it for 35 years. It is quite unusual for it's small size--only an 8" blade. It's got a contractor saw-type arrangement with the motor out the back, using a leather belt. It's been very well cared for--the table is very clean and there is no rust on the rest of the machine. Arbor tilts from side wheel, and raises and lowers from the lever on the front. It has a blade brake. The miter gauge is a Craftsman replacement, but is very tight. Fence only attaches at the front of the table, but locks down well when tightened. According to a brochure on the site, by 1941 Oliver had moved the motor to a tilting yoke under the table and used a v-belt. The motor is a 1/2 hp RI, 110/220v, with greased bearings. Saw S/N is 38474.
