A local purchase. According to the shop sheet (copy received from LeBLOND) this Lathe was sold to Peninsular Machinery Co. and shipped to the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. The seller claims to have owned this lathe approx. 4-5 years and never used it. Seller acquired the lathe from the widow of an older gentleman who had purchased it from Henry Ford Hospital.

To get the lathe home it was disassembled into more manageable pieces. Since the lathe was already somewhat apart I decided to disassemble even more to check condition and repaint it. What I have found to date is the lathe appears to be in very good condition with no broken gears or parts.

Note: The mobile base was used to facilitate the reassembly of lathe. It will be removed when lathe is set in its final resting place within the shop.

Though wishful thinking, I would like to find the OEM steady rest and taper attachment that go along with this lathe.
