Comments:
This machine was advertised on Craigslist in Salem, Oregon. I at first mistook it for a variation on the Bend Iron Works jointer which also doesn't typically (well ever) feature a fence of this sort. The Consolidated Machinery badge, as well as the location and font of the serial number, clinched it as a Davis and Wells. The two unfortunate issues this machine evidences are the broken off/missing end of the outfeed table that extends back around the cutterhead and the excessively large cutout in the fence in proximity to the cutterhead. Otherwise it appears to be in good shape. I cleaned the bearings which were as gummed up as any I've encountered and reassembled the cutterhead.
