This was another purchase from Craigslist, down in Modesto, California. The seller was a great guy who was an incredible woodworker (wood turner primarily), but only used new equipment (primarily Jets). His shop was large and impeccably clean...like OCD clean. He had inherited this saw from his uncle and he had "cleaned" it up. The motor was old and he felt as though it was a fire hazard so he replaced it with a new motor...and tossed the original. He also added a sheet metal belt guard and presumably tossed the original guard. Although I wish he'd kept the original parts, he gave this to me as an incredibly good deal and unlike many of my tool purchases, it is ready to use. Now, if only I could locate a period correct motor and an original belt guard!
