An early Delta motor to be used on a 10" Model 785 band saw restoration. Still runs quietly after all these years but, of course, it will have to be rebuilt. I saw this one online and was curious when Delta used the round red and blue motor ID tags. After doing some research on 'The Delta Page' it turns out that these "new Delta 2-shaft electric motors" were first offered in Catalogue H, April of 1932. By 1939's Catalog P-1 (pages 49-51), this split-phase motor had completely changed to the more familiar "oval tagged" Model 6300 with a separate switch box mounted on the steel casing (no longer built into the cast-iron end bell), and "with the extra shaft covered by our new, non-rotating shaft protector, Patent Pending..."
