Comments:
This turret lathe is located and in use at a steam locomotive museum in Plimmerton, Wellington, New Zealand.
It bears a plate (photo too fuzzy to show) stating: "Property of Defence Plant Corporation, An Instrumentality of the United States Government" which makes me think it may have been brought to New Zealand to support the US troops stationed here during WW2. The plate also has what appears to say "DPC" and "Plancor 677" cast into it.
It also bears marks of PWD (Public Works Department) and MOW (Ministry of Works) - both New Zealand Government departments.
