The pictured lathe, complete with its original lineshaft system, was spotted on Craigslist Seattle in late summer 2016, prompting me to communicate with the owner; as this is written it is still there... and the owner says they've sold the Granite Falls, WA property it's stored in and really need to move the lathe in the next couple of months to save it from the scrappers.
The current owner's dad owned an ARCO gas station in Granite Falls, WA for many years and liked working on Model T's and other cars, using this lathe. Alas, he passed away in 1998 and lathe has sat idle since then. There is a picture of his ARCO station in the Granite Museum, but they don't have room for the lathe.
Here is a rare opportunity for someone to pick up a functioning, all-original, lineshaft-driven turn-of-the-century lathe with many accessories and spare parts. I'm told that a museum or historical society could have it essentially as a donation, and this writer, among others, would jump at the chance to help disassemble & load it (gratis!) if asked! (Alas, at my age, I wouldn't expect it'd be safe with me for many years either... or I'd take it myself!)
