This is a wood framed table saw in the collection of the Old Schwamb mill in Arlington Massachusetts. The Old Schwamb Mill, a nonprofit entity since 1971, was a manufacturer of straight picture frame moldings and oval picture and mirror frames. This cross cut table saw was and is used primarily to accurately trim the ends of oval frame segments in preparation for finger jointing on the mills finger jointing saw. Note the home made blade guard and various jigs for trimming the segment's ends at right angles to one another.

THIS IS STILL A LINE SHAFT DRIVEN MACHINE!
