This is a Delta Light Duty Shaper. It has been in Delta's line a long time under the Homecraft, Delta and Rockwell names. The design actually pre-dates the large heavy duty shaper. Little has changed over the years with the exception of the design of the front feet. These machines seemed to have lost their popularity with the advent of the high horsepower routers and router tables. The machine sits on a footed bolt-together stand which I suspect makes it a 1960's or 1970's machine. The machine came to me complete, except for the fence, serial number and logo plate and the correct pulley. I did a complete tear down and restoration during October 2001. I subsequently traded this machine for a Walker-Turner 10" cabinet type table saw which I gave to my son. If you are looking for a light duty shaper be sure to check the pulley. The correct one is pictured below. They are often replaced with the common single belt variety. Delta gets $100 for this pulley and they are tough to find in the after market. The extra width is necessary to allow for movement of the belt as the spindle is moved up and down.
