My grandfather and great-grandfather were master carpenters of the Mission Style.
I am selling their super-solid old band saw because I didn't inherit their woodworking
talent.

My father, who did inherit their talent, suggested that I put it on the lawn, but I am
hoping that someone with Mission-Style talent will be looking for a sturdy old band saw
like this.

It is made by Wallace Company of Chicago. The motor nameplate with motor serial number
is shown in a picture. The table vernier shows the saw is serial number 2221.
The saw is heavy but bolts together in sections (about 200 pounds of steel altogether).
Single phase motors of this period need a little pull on the band wheel to get them going (like a vintage prop airplane) - the motor could be changed, or you could use it as is like a vintage master craftsman.

You can still order bands for this great Depression-era professional saw. The saw was
left dusty in the pictures to show its experience. If your shop has vintage old power
tools that are much more solid than current styles, this could be a good addition for
your working collection.
