I acquired this machine as an inheritance, it was my grandfather's; and it had been used pretty much continuously throughout the years by my father and myself. It looks like it was taken from a multi-spindle machine, as it has a large "5" on the head casting, and the base is not the typical large-footed DP base commonly found. All parts are original, including the motor and belt cover.
The machine has been partially restored by taking it apart, cleaning the rust off the column, repainting the table and base, and lubricating moving parts. The belt was replaced with a link-belt. The machine came with a replacement, but vintage, Jacobs 6A-33T chuck, and the original spanner wrenches, a mortising yoke and one chisel and bit, two chuck keys, and a whole box of mostly dull and useless twist drill bits. I have decided not to restore or repaint the head casting, first because I don't have time, and second because it will destroy the "character" of the casting - all the decals and tags. There is no serial number or identifying tag on this machine; I'm still trying to determine the series and vintage.
