Just picked this up in the Twin Cities area. Was originally sold by a dealer here in Minnesota. Cast iron platen is dead flat still. Direct drive motor (probably a coupled drive though I haven't looked close yet). Has a spring to maintain constant tension and compensate for belt stretch. Also has a quick release lever for quick belt changes. Drums are aluminum. Drive drum does not appear to be crowned but the idler drum has a pronounced crown.
No idea if this is ball or sleeve bearing.
Tracking is achieved by a twist/pivot motion of the idler drum and not by tipping up and down as with most sanders. This sander tracks beautifully and will be a welcomed addition.
