This lathe was purchased many years ago at auction of the Bucks Funiture manufacturing plant (no longer in business) in Clinton, MA. James Buck Sr. founded the Co. in 1923 as a chairmaking business in Sterling, MA. The headstock and tailstock are cast iron. A bearing block bracket, possibly for a treadle component, can be seen attached to the legs.
