Acquired through an Ebay auction. No history available from previous owner. The saw was kept in a dungeon of a basement. It was advertised as having a repaired crack in the table. Turns out that the table was broken in half. Metal plates were formed around the ribbing under the table, and bolted to the two halves. A quarter inch metal strap was bolted around the circumference. The whole job sounds pretty ugly, but it works pretty well, and the table is solid.
The saw has two lower axle bearings, suggesting that it may have had some sort of speed reduction. However, the bearing had no shaft, so this is just a theory.
