This band saw has large heavy castings. The main frame has the name "Charles E. Wright Kennelworth, NJ" cast around the side of the "C". It has all cast iron wheels, and was originally set up for lineshaft drive. I converted it to a 5 hp motor, and built wooden guards for it after cleaning and painting. The bottom wheel has babbitt bearings which I repoured. The top wheel has a bronze sleeve bearing. The Wright blade guides, originally patented by the company that made this saw, are still available. They are now made by the Black Diamond Saw co. in Natick, Ma. The nicest feature of this saw is the huge throat. I can re-saw 16 inches high with the guides normally installed. I rigged up a bracket to hold the backup wheel up near the top wheel, and I can then remove the top guide and re-saw 22 inches high!
